Sex eligibility reported by registry: both

Inclusion criteria: 1.1 Inclusion criteria for Parkinson disease or PD group 1) Clinically diagnosed with PD stages 2 (bilateral disease, without impairment of balance) to 3 (mild to moderate bilateral disease; some postural instability; physically independent) as assessed by the modified Hoehn and Yahr scale 2) The age groups between 45 and 75 years 3) Taking PD medication regularly for at least a month or to have maintained stable anti-PD medication without any changes for at least one month prior to the study. This criterion aimed to minimize potential confounding effects on movement performance, particularly those related to variations in antiparkinsonian drug dosage during testing. 4) Able to use smart phone for download metronome application, either by the participant or their caregiver 5) Able to walk independently without any assistive device 6) Able to follow commands and instructions. 1.2 Inclusion criteria 1) The age and sex of the matched groups with PD ranged between 45 and 75 years. 2) Able to understand and follow commands and instructions 3) Able to walk independently without any assistive devices 4) Able to use smart phone for download metronome application, either by the participant or their caregiver 5) Score about 24 or more for TMSE and score of 25 or more for the MoCA Exclusion criteria: 1) Have a verified clinical diagnosis of a condition that could influence test and STS movement, for example severe vestibular dysfunction 2) Have a comorbidity with severe systemic illness, severe signs and symptoms of musculoskeletal issues, such as having a knee/hip prosthesis that may influenced STS performance 3) Visual and hearing problems that cannot be corrected with the use of aids.

Official study title

The immediate and short-term effects of external cueing with task specific training to improve sit to stand performance balance fall risk and quality of life in individuals with Parkinson disease

Original description

Intervention: Intervention: Participants will receive sit to stand or STS training with visual cues. Procedure: Participants will perform STS movements using visual markers displayed by LED aids on a projector screen. A yellow marker will serve as a target for participants to focus on when placing their feet and standing up in coordination with the LED cues. The markers will light up if the participant performs the movement correctly and disappear if the movement is not performed properly. Additionally, the screen will display the movement time for each completed STS. As the study includes a 1-week practice period with visual cues, participants will use the yellow marker at home in the same way as practiced in the clinic, ensuring ease and comfort for at-home practice. Participants will perform the full STS movement and reverse the motion to return to a seated position. Training Structure - Duration: Each session lasts 20-30 minutes. - Repetitions: 3 sets of 10 STS repetitions for 1 session with 1to 2 minutes of rest between sets.,Intervention: Participants will receive STS training with auditory cues. Procedure: Practice STS movements using a metronome as follows: Participants begin by placing their feet back and leaning the trunk forward to prepare for standing. They will also perform the full STS movement and reverse the motion to return to a seated position. Participants coordinate these STS movements in sync with the metronome beats (e.g., 75 to 90 beats per minute). Participants will perform the full STS movement and reverse the motion to return to a seated position. Training Structure - Duration: Each session lasts 20-30 minutes. - Repetitions: 3 sets of 10 STS repetitions for 1 session with 1 to 2 minutes of rest between sets.;Active Comparator Behavioral,Active Comparator Behavioral;Visual cueing,Auditory cueing Primary outcome: 1.Movement time of sit to stand task from markerless motion capture 1 week second,2.Angular velocity curves of the trunk, ankle, knee, and hip joints in the sagittal plane of sit to stand task from markerless motion capture 1 week deegree per sec,3.Reaction time of sit to stand task from markerless motion capture 1 week seconds,4.Time to complete of Five time sit to stand task 1 week sencond,5.Time to complete Timed Up and Go test 1 week second Secondary outcome: 1.The total score from the Mini BESTest 1 week score,2.The total score of the Parkinson Disease Questionnaire 8 1 week score,3.The total score of the Fall Efficacy Scale International 1 week score

Conditions reported: 1. Clinically diagnosed with Parkinson disease stages 2 and 3 as assessed by the modified Hoehn and Yahr scale 2. Healthy adults for comparative with individuals with Parkinson Parkinson disease;Parkinson disease
