Inclusion criteria: Medical diagnosis of Parkinson's disease according to the criteria of the London Brain Bank (Hughes et al., 1992); Individuals over 50 years of age; Non-institutionalized; Mini Mental Score that does not characterize cognitive deficit; Hohen & Yahr between 1.5 to 3.0; Patients who accept to participate in the project and sign the informed consent form according to the criteria of the Research Ethics Committee of the State University of Londrina Exclusion criteria: Individuals who realize other therapeutic treatment other than medication, who has a change in medication during the course of the study or who have associated diseases, such as: other neurological diseases, severe heart diseases, amputations, cognitive or comprehension deficits; Alteration in the stabilization of doses of antiparkinsonian during the course of the study or more than three faults in the therapies will be considered as loss. There will be replacement of the losses to avoid influencing the statistical power of the study.

Official study title

Effectiveness of virtual and augmented reality versus neurofunctional physiotherapy in the treatment of motors and non motors symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease

Short title used by the registry

Effectiveness of virtual reality, augmented reality and neurofunctional physiotherapy in postural control and cognition of individuals with Parkinson disease

Original description

Intervention: All the individuals participating in the research should realize the three intervention modalities, as follows: 1) Neurofunctional Physiotherapy (n=40): A physiotherapy intervention program based on the Bobath concept will be developed with 50-minute therapies, with frequency of 2 times a week, in a total of 24 therapies. The therapy will consist of exercises that meet the following physiotherapeutic aims: • To stimulate neuromotor recruitment; • To stimulate the balance; • To stimulate functional independence and activities of daily living; • To promote the improvement of gait pattern; • To improve the patients quality of life; • To reduce fall risk indicators; • To stimulate cognitive aspects; • To improve the quality of life. 2) Augmented Reality (n=40): It will be used an own intervention protocol , consisting of two weekly interventions during 50 minutes for a period of 12 weeks, using free softwares in personal computers. The aims sought through the intervention should include • To stimulate active movement free of limbs; • To stimulating postural control and static and dynamic balance; • To promote improvement in daily life activities (DLA); • To improve gait patterns; • To reduce fall risk indicators; • To stimulating cognitive aspects; • To improve quality of life 3) Virtual Reality (n=40): Participants of the study will be submitted to an intervention protocol, based on exercises in the Wii Fit software, lasting 50 minutes for 12 weeks. The objectives of this intervention should include: • Stimulating postural control and static and dynamic balance; • Stimulate motor coordination; • Improve the capacity of double task; • Promote improvement in daily life activities; • Reduce f;Other;E02.779;L01.224.160.875;E02.760.169.063.500.387;SP2.031.282 Primary outcome: Expected outcome 1: Improvement of postural control in individuals with PD, mensured by force platform, through observation of a variation of at least 5% in pre and post intervention measurements. Data evaluated immediately before and after the intervention.;Expected outcome 2: Improvement in executive function, mensured by Trail Making Test Secondary outcome: Expected outcome 1: Decrease in COP amplitude, velocity and área.;Expected outcome 2: Decrease in conclusion time of ""Trail Making Test"" parts A and B
