Official study title

The effect of chamomile extract on motor function and quality of life in patients with Parkinson disease

Short title used by the registry

""Evaluation of the effect of chamomile in Parkinson's patients""

Original description

Intervention: Intervention 1: Intervention group: Chamomile capsules (200 mg) will be taken twice a day (morning and night) for 28 consecutive days. The dose of chamomile was considered with the advice of a pharmacist and based on similar studies, including the study of Adib et al., 200 mg. And only after randomly dividing the patients into control and intervention groups, the researcher will provide a specific number of chamomile extract capsules in box A and a certain number of placebo capsules in box B, and then the doctor will give each patient a number It will give a specific capsule from each box and then record the patient's details and whether the patient received the box A or B capsule. The Assessment Scale (SPES / SCOPA) and the Quality of Life Score of the Parkinson's Patients' Quality of Life Questionnaire (PDQ-39) are used to assess motor performance. After 28 days and after taking the capsules, patients will go to the doctor's office and the quality of life questionnaire and the scale of patients' motor function will be done by a specialist doctor in the office. Intervention 2: Control group: Placebo capsules (200 mg) will be taken twice a day (morning and night) for 28 consecutive days. Due to the fact that the present study is double-blind, the specialist physician and patients are not aware of the type of capsule used and only the researcher after randomly dividing the patients into control and intervention groups, the specific number of chamomile extract capsules in box A and A specific number of placebo capsules will be given to the specialist in box B, and then the doctor will give each patient a specific number of capsules from each box, and then record the patient's details and whether the patient has received box A or B capsules. ???. The Assessment Scale Primary outcome: Motor function. Timepoint: Before taking the capsules and 28 days after taking the capsules daily. Method of measurement: check list: Short Parkinson's Evaluation Scale/Scales for Outcomes in Parkinson’s Disease – Motor Function. Secondary outcome: Quality of Life. Timepoint: Before taking the capsules and 28 days after taking the capsules daily. Method of measurement: Quality of Life Questionnaire in Parkinson's Patients (PDQ-39).

Conditions reported: Parkinson. Parkinson's disease
