Official study title

Effects of transcutaneous auricular stimulation on pupil response in older adults and people with Parkinson's disease - NORA

Short title used by the registry

Effects of transcutaneous auricular stimulation on pupil response in older adults and people with Parkinson's disease

Original description

Intervention: Group 1: Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS), true stimulation (3 seconds of stimulation and 12 seconds of pause over a total duration of 10 minutes during pupil measurement) in both groups (healthy older, Parkinson) Group 2: Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS), sham stimulation (3 seconds of stimulation and 12 seconds of pause over a total duration of 10 minutes during pupil measurement) in both groups (healthy older, Parkinson) Primary outcome: Difference between pupil dilation before (baseline) and after taVNS (or sham stimulation) Secondary outcome: - Reaction time during cognitive tasks (TAP-M) - REM sleep disorder (IRBD-SSS-PT)

Conditions reported: Individuals with Parkinson's disease, group of healthy older individuals
