Official study title

Effect of dual-task training and virtual reality on cognitive-motor interference in patients with Parkinsons disease - NIL

Short title used by the registry

Virtual Reality and Exercises improve performance in people with Parkinson s Disease

Original description

Intervention: Intervention1: Virtual Reality: Group 1: Patients will undergo rehabilitation using various VR-based games, including Wordplay, Nintendo Wii Fit, and Xbox 360. The interventions aim to improve motor functions, balance, and overall quality of life through interaction and engagement. For 4 weeks consecutively , 5 days per weeks Intervention2: Dual Task Training: The DTT group will undergo a rehabilitation program that combines gait training with secondary cognitive tasks. This included various walking exercises alongside tasks that required cognitive engagement (e.g., walking on a narrow path with Counting (1-10) backward and forward). The training was structured to progressively increase in difficulty, starting with simpler tasks and advancing to more complex dual-task scenarios Motor tasks: walk on a narrow path for 2 minutes or walking backward Cognition tasks: Counting (1-10) backward and forward or Memorize a set of letters (A, B, C, D, E or F, G, H, I, J) and repeat them in forward or backward order. For 4 weeks consecutively, 5 days per week Control Intervention1: Combined virtual reality and Dual Task training: Patients will undergo rehabilitation using various VR-based games with combined gait training with secondary cognitive tasks simultaneously. For 4 weeks consecutively, 5 days per week Primary outcome: Unified Parkinson Disease Rating ScaleTimepoint: First assessment will be obtained at 0 day Post assessment at the end of 4 weeks of intervention Secondary outcome: Montreal Cognitive Assessment Timed up and go testTimepoint: 0 day and at the end of 4 weeks of intervention

Conditions reported: Health Condition 1: G00-G99- Diseases of the nervous system
