Original abstract

In Parkinson’s disease, subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) frequency modulates narrow beta subbands, with low-frequency stimulation (LFS) selectively attenuating 15–23 Hz power. The negative association between this subband and speech tempo, together with the LFS-related improvement in articulatory rate, suggests that 15–23 Hz subband dynamics may serve as a candidate neural marker associated with speech tempo modulation.
