Original abstract

Eighty-five PD patients without cognitive impairment (MoCA > 23) and 88 age-matched healthy controls completed the Symbol Search (SS) task, as a general measure of PS, along with three additional tasks designed to isolate PS components: perceptual speed (measured by inspection time [IT]), motor speed (assessed by simple reaction time [SRT]), and cognitive PS (captured by the difference between choice and simple reaction time [CRT–SRT]). PD patients also underwent a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment covering attention, visuoperceptual and visuospatial abilities, episodic memory, executive functioning, and language.
