Original abstract

Cardiovascular pathology in children remains a significant problem nowadays due to its prevalence. Cardiac arrhythmias play an important role in modern pediatrics and pediatric cardiology, in particular with the presence of additional functioning conduction pathways. Among them, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW) creates conditions for the life-threatening arrhythmias appearance. Cardiac arrhythmias can occur on the background of central and autonomic nervous systems functions disorders. Autonomic system dysregulation due to its hereditary may take place, especially in children of senior school age. The aim of the study is to improve the diagnosis of WPW syndrome in children of senior school age based on the examination of their autonomic homeostasis. 44 children with WPW syndrome aged from 13 to 17 years were examined. Among them, 25 boys and 19 girls. The control group consisted of 23 almost healthy children, including 12 boys and 11 girls of the same age. The examination was performed in the clinical hospital «Center for Mother and a Child» in Vinnytsia. To assess the rhythm, conductivity and the state of autonomic homeostasis, daily Holter ECG monitoring was performed. During analysis of heart rate variability (HRV), the following indicators were used: HR, mean NN-interval, SDNN, SDNN-i, SDANN, rMSSD, pNN50%, triangular index. In children aged from 13 to 17 years old, regardless of gender, a decrease (p
